Stranger Things 4 vs The Umbrella Academy 3 : Battle For The No.1 │ News Update │ Cineflicks News

The Umbrella Academy season 3 has grabbed the number 1 position from Stranger Things 4. This feat was observed on June 26, when the 3rd season of Umbrella Academy gained the top position with 125 million hours in total. Stranger Things 4 was previously holding this position for 4 consecutive weeks at Netflix Top 10s. But finally, Umbrella Academy 3 is now holding this spot after defeating Stranger Things 4 in the battle of total views worldwide. Based on a comic book series of the same name by Gerard Way, The Umbrella Academy first debuted in the back of 2019 on Netflix. It was created by Steve Blackman who is also the show-runner of this superhero series. The Umbrella Academy revolves around a group of young superheroes who are all adopted by an eccentric billionaire. Season 3 focuses on siblings when they find themselves against a new superhero group, called The Sparrow Academy. In addition, they also have to find a way to stop a destructive entity from destroying the universe. After receiving fabulous feedback for the previous 2 seasons, the Umbrella Academy season 3 was highly anticipated by the viewers. But to be honest, the cast and crew also did a great job in every aspect. Especially, when Netflix announced in March that Elliot Page’s character, Vanya, would come out as transgender and change his name to Viktor in season 3. This storyline was written specifically for Page’s own gender identity who came out as transgender in 2020. The move has been well-received around the globe and became one of the many reasons for its’ popularity. Other than this show which holds the top position on Netflix Top 10, Stranger Things 4 has been pushed to 2nd position in the list. It was watched for 76.9 million minutes from June 20-26. However, Stranger Things is likely to climb up the top positions as the reaming 2 episodes are ready to debut on July 1, 2022.
