Bill Skarsgård, also known as Pennywise from the horror film, “IT’, has joined the cast of John Wick: Chapter 4. Skarsgård is playing Marquis de Gramont, a new antagonist that has been added to the universe. For those of you who are new to the series, John Wick follows a highly skilled assassin who wants to retire after his wife’s death. But when his dog is killed, he is forced to come out of retirement and fight against the High Table to earn his way back to a peaceful life. Chapter 4 will introduce a lot of new faces to the series, and Skarsgård’s character will be one of them. In an interview with Total Film, Skarsgård revealed some interesting details about his character, Marquis de Gramont. He said,” “The Marquis is a young man of unknown origin who has quickly climbed the ladder within the High Table doing god knows what. I always saw him as someone from the gutter that now savors the glittery suits he’s wearing. He functions as the new sheriff and set out to rid the world of John Wick once and for all.” As we know from the end of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, Wick will be facing off against the High Table in Chapter 4. This means that he may have to fight old friends and companions who are more loyal to the High Table than to him. With a runtime of around 150 minutes, the movie promises to deliver an abundance of thrilling fights, shootouts, and political maneuvering against the notorious High Table. Despite the lack of official confirmation, it’s almost certain that we’ll be seeing a John Wick: Chapter 5 in the future due to the franchise’s huge success. However, the release of Chapter 4 has faced multiple delays due to the pandemic, which may have caused a delay in the announcement of the next installment.
In addition to returning favorites, John Wick: Chapter 4 will introduce a host of new characters, including Gramont, portrayed by Bill Skarsgård. Alongside him is Donnie Yen as Caine, Hiroyuki Sanada as Shimazu, Natalia Tena as Katia, Shamier Anderson as The Tracker, Clancy Brown as The Harbinger, Scott Adkins as Killa, and Rina Sawayama as Akira.
