As we all know, Th last of us is super popular right now. With each episode, its popularity graph among the audience, as well as the critics, is rising only. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you probably know what’s the storyline of this amazing show. Nonetheless, let us give you a summary of its premise. The last of us is based on a PlayStation game with the same name. The story follows this guy named Joel, played by Pedro Pascal, who’s a really tough smuggler. He’s trying to transport this young girl named Ellie, played by Bella Ramsey, who might have the cure for a fungus that wiped out most of humanity. So far, the first season has stayed pretty close to the plot of the game, but they’ve also added some extra stuff to make the story even better. And that’s why a lot of people are saying it’s one of the best video game adaptations ever. Now, nothing has been officially confirmed yet, but a lot of fans of the game are expecting Season 2 of the HBO show to cover the storyline of the second game. You know, the one where Ellie and Joel are back at it again, trying to survive in a world overrun by infected zombies? The show was actually renewed right after the second episode aired back in January, and the game director and co-creator of the series, Neil Druckmann, even tweeted about it. So, it’s pretty safe to say that things are looking good for Season 2. In a recent interview, Pedro Pascal was asked about season 2. Pascal couldn’t say too much, but he did have some playful banter before confirming that there is indeed a chance, they’ll start filming Season 2 later this year. According to him, the filming for season 2 is expected to start at the end of 2023. On the other hand, Bella Ramsey, who plays Ellie in the show, recently talked about how excited she is to explore some of the storylines from the second game. In an interview on the “Happy Sad Confused podcast”, Ramsey specifically mentioned being excited about the Ellie/Dina storyline. But get this – even though Part II is currently the last game in the franchise, that doesn’t mean Season 2 will be the end of the show. Co-creator Craig Mazin said before the renewal that there’s so much story left to tell that it would probably take more than just one season to cover it all. By the way, in case you haven’t been keeping up, The Last of Us currently airs new episodes on HBO and HBO Max every Sunday at 9 PM ET.
