The Sandman season has been green-lit by the streaming giant, Netflix. After two months of premiering the first season, Netflix has officially announced season 2. Given the tight criteria for getting a new instalment on the streaming service, The Sandman finally managed to score a new chapter for its followers. So, what can we expect from it? Based on the comic book written by Neil Gaiman, it was created by David S. Goyer. As we all know, the Sandman is a story of Morpheus a.k.a the Dream or more commonly, the Sandman. The first season kicks off after Morpheus is captured in a cult ritual. His absence sets a chain of events that are shown in subsequent episodes. Being a mixture of epic fantasy, thrill, and drama, the first season gained widespread critical acclaim from critics. It took first place in Netflix’s Top 10 shows for more than 3 weeks. The first season scored 393 million watch hours on Netflix globally before dropping out. But with this popularity, the future of Morpheus was still hanging in doubt for further seasons. The reason was simple, it is one of the most expensive series ever made. In Neil Gaiman’s own words, “being number 1 in the top 10s may not be enough to get a season 2.” But luckily, on November 3rd, 2022, both DC and Netflix announced season 2 of Sandman. All primary cast members as well as crew members will be returning to it. Its story will be based on the Season of Mists, one of the most popular story arcs in the Sandman comics. We will be watching a lot of schemes from Dream’s sibling, Desire. Lucifer will also play a crucial role in this storyline. As you know, season 2 has just been announced so, there is a long wait till we see Morpheus again on our screens. In our opinion, it will be dropped at the end of 2024.
