Joker 2: Folie à deux │ News Update │Cineflicks News
Put on a happy face, because “Joker” is coming back. A few days ago, the sequel was officially confirmed to be in development with Todd Phillips serving as director with a script he co-wrote with Scott Silver. Phillips revealed on social media the title of the new project, “Joker: Folie à deux”.This working title is a reference to a medical term for a similar mental disorder that affects two or more individuals. So, this title gives us a hint that this time Joker might not be alone and he is bringing a friend to Joker 2. It is a strong possibility because as per reports, Lady Gaga is in early talks to star opposite Joaquin Phoenix as Harley Queen. Details on her character are being kept under wraps, but Joker is known for his on-off abusive relationship with Harley Quinn, his sidekick, and partner in crime. If a deal makes, Gaga would play Quinn in this sequel. The plot is not revealed yet but at the end of the first Joker film, we saw Arthur complete his transformation into the Joker in Arkham State Hospital. So, our educated guess is that this upcoming sequel will focus on the growing relationship between Joker and Harley Quinn. As for its release date, it’s hard to say we can watch this film any time sooner. The script has been finished but not approved yet. That’s why Joker 2 is expected to be released in somewhere 2023.
