Citadel – Priyanka Chopra Jonas – Richard Madden │ News Update │ Cineflicks News

The first official trailer for the upcoming spy-thriller series, “Citadel” has been released on Prime Video. Produced by the Russo brothers, who directed some of the biggest Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, “Citadel” is set to be an ambitious project. After their success with the Netflix spy-thriller “The Gray Man,” the Russo brothers are back with another spy project for Prime Video. The series stars Richard Madden, best known for his role in “Game of Thrones,” and Priyanka Chopra Jonas as two elite agents working for the mysterious Citadel agency. The trailer kicks off by introducing the two agents, Mason Kane and Nadia Singh, who have recently had their memories wiped. Soon, their former colleague played by Stanley Tucci appears to explain what is going on and reveals the backstory of Citadel, which is a spy agency loyal to no nation. As teased in the trailer for this new series Citadel, the show is set eight years after the titular spy agency was dismantled by the enigmatic Manticore organization. In hiding and with their memories erased, the two top agents of the agency, Mason and Nadia, must team up again to stop Manticore’s sinister plans for world domination. The first season, consisting of six episodes, promises to take viewers on a thrilling journey across various international locations as the two protagonists fight to save the world. Along the way, they will also navigate their complicated relationship, which may evolve into a romantic one. Josh Appelbaum, the co-creator of Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, has brought together an impressive ensemble cast for Citadel, led by Richard Madden, Priyanka Chopra, and Stanley Tucci. The trailer also teases the appearance of Lesley Manville as the villainous leader of Manticore. Other members of the cast include Osy Ikhile, Ashleigh Cummings, Roland Møller, and Caoilinn Springall. With a whopping $250 million budget, Prime Video is making a bold move with this show. In addition to the main series, there are already plans for several spin-off series set in the Italian Alps, India, Spain, and Mexico. This groundbreaking approach is designed to make Citadel a truly global phenomenon. Whether these ambitious plans will succeed remains to be seen, but the first two episodes of the series will premiere on April 28, 2023, with weekly episodes to follow.
