Well, the good news is that production has wrapped up, and we’re going to get a chance to see Shazam! Fury of the Gods very soon! But what can we expect from the movie? Well, you’re in luck, because we have got all the details for you! The first movie introduced us to the hilarious and charming tween-turned superhero, Billy Batson, played perfectly by Zachary Levi. Alongside his co-star, Asher Angel, they won over fans all over the world with their comedic and dramatic performances. The film perfectly balanced heartwarming emotions, genuine humor, and a hint of darkness making it one of the highest-rated movies in the DC Universe. “Shazam! Fury of the Gods” is packed with epic action scenes, beloved characters, and new villains that are sure to keep us on the edge of our seats. So, in the first movie, we saw Billy Batson transform into a superhero and fight against Doctor Sivana, but now he’s out in the world with his foster family, fighting crime with the powers of literal gods. But things are about to get even more complicated with the arrival of three Greek goddesses known as the Daughters of Atlas – Hespera, Kalypso, and Athena. According to the official plot synopsis, the goddesses are on a hunt for the magic stolen from them long ago, which happens to be the same magic that gives the Shazam family their powers. They’re after a scepter that looks like the one belonging to the wizard who gave Billy his powers, and they’re bringing along monsters to wage war on the world. Now, if you’re a comic book fan, you might be wondering about the accuracy of the Daughters of Atlas. While Atlas himself is a DC Comics character, Athena is closely aligned with Wonder Woman. However, Hespera and Kalypso are new to the DC mythos and have never appeared in comic book form before. So, it’ll be interesting to see how these goddesses play out in the story. We’re guessing that Athena will eventually shift sides while her sisters will be pretty solidly bad guys. But Billy has a lot to learn about his new abilities, and he’s also dealing with an existential crisis. It is directed by David F. Sandberg and written by Henry Gayden. It stars Zachary Levi, who played the adult superhero version of Billy Batson, and Asher Angel, who played his teenage alter-ego, both these actors are reprising their roles. The same goes for the young actors who played Billy’s foster siblings: Jack Dylan Grazer, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, and Grace Caroline Currey. And this time, we’ll see the superhero versions of these characters played by Adam Brody, Meagan Good, Ross Butler, and D. J. Cotrona. Shazam: Fury of the Gods will be released theatrically on March 17, 2023. For more updates, subscribe to the CineFlicks News.
