Kraven the Hunter is getting his first movie this year. It will be the first live-action film for this famous supervillain. Created by the legendary Stan Lee, this character is one of the most formidable enemies of Spider-Man. Although the idea for this film was given a decade ago, it has to face many challenges to become a reality. Now, that we have a lot about the movie, it’s time to discuss its details. So, let’s s take a look into it. Kraven the Hunter first debuted in Marvel comics in 1964. His real name is Sergei Kravinoff and he belongs to a noble Russian family. He is tall, muscular and possesses superhuman strength and agility. He consistently wants to kill Peter to become the world’s greatest hunter. Wearing a distinctive lion vest and an ammo belt, the character has a strong fan base due to its charismatic nature. That’s why, Sam Raimi wanted this character to appear in his 4th film. However, before it happened, the franchise was rebooted. After the deal between Marvel and Sony in 2015, the latter was able to create its own shared universe. Known as “Sony’s Spider-Man Universe”, Venom was the first film introduced in it. Now, this upcoming movie will be the 4th film in this universe. When it comes to its premise, the studio hasn’t released any official logline. The plot details are strictly under wrap at this moment. But according to some reports, the movie will be inspired by a comic book series “Kraven’s Last Hunt”. In the comic book, Spidey is defeated by Kraven who later retires and commits suicide. It is, no doubt, one of the greatest Spider-man stories from the comics. Due to the Sony-Marvel deal, it is unlikely for our web-slinger hero to appear in the movie. So, how they are going to pull off that story? Well, we have to wait for a little bit more to solve this mystery. As for its cast, Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been cast as the titular character. Thanks to his exceptional acting skills in Bullet Train, the actor has successfully made a multiple-movie deal to portray this character. Alongside him, Ariana DeBose is appearing as Calypso. This character is the love interest of our hunter. She is a voodoo priestess who uses magic potions. Alessandro Nivola and Christopher Abbott have been cast as villains. Abbott is playing the main villain, the Foreigner. Kraven’s half-brother, the Chameleon, will be played by Fred Hechinger. Russell Crowe and Levi Miller have also been cast in supporting roles.
