The Super Mario Bros. Movie │News Update │ Cineflicks News

The Super Mario Bros. Movie is just a few weeks away from hitting theaters, and Illumination has just dropped the final trailer for the film. The new footage shows Luigi being taken hostage by Bowser, who’s rallying his army of Goombas, Koopas, and other little red shell guys to destroy the Mushroom Kingdom. But fear not, because Mario is vowing to rescue his brother and help Princess Peach protect the realm. As we all know, Super Mario is one of the most beloved video game franchises of all time. The adventures of Mario and his brother Luigi have been entertaining gamers since the 1980s, and Mario has become one of the most iconic faces of the Nintendo company. From classic titles like Super Mario 64 to more recent releases like Super Mario Odyssey, fans have been eagerly anticipating each new Mario adventure on every console release. And now, with the Super Mario Bros. Movie, we’ll get to see the pint-sized plumber in action on the big screen once again. This is only the second time Nintendo has attempted to bring Mario to the big screen, with their first attempt being the universally panned 1993 live-action film. This time around, however, the company decided to stick to animation and brought on Illumination Studios, best known for the Despicable Me and Minions franchises, to make the film. The movie features an impressive cast, with Chris Pratt voicing Mario, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, and Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach. Even Charles Martinet, the original voice actor for Mario and Luigi in the Nintendo games, will be making surprise cameos in the film. Super Mario Bros. will hit theaters worldwide on April 5, 2023.
