Jon Bernthal “The Punisher” Is Coming Back │ News Update │ Cineflicks News

If you’re a fan of The Punisher, then you’re in for a treat because we’ve got some exciting news to share. Yesterday, Marvel Studios surprised us all by announcing that Jon Bernthal will be returning to play Frank Castle in the upcoming series, “Daredevil: Born Again’. To celebrate this incredible news, the actor posted a TikTok video where he walks confidently into his living room with the iconic theme from The Punisher series playing in the background. In the video, we can also see The Punisher’s logo and a book related to the character, which highlights just how passionate Bernthal is about playing Frank Castle. As you may recall, Bernthal first portrayed the character in Netflix’s Daredevil and later went on to star in his own spin-off series in 2017. During his first appearance in the show, Frank Castle was a huge problem for Matt Murdock, also known as Daredevil. He went on a killing spree while seeking revenge for the death of his wife and kids. When Daredevil tried to stop him, he is instead captured by The Punisher and chained up on a rooftop in New York City. When Murdock finally wakes up, he found himself face to face with a very angry Castle, and the two have a heated argument about their different methods of dealing with crime. While Daredevil is against killing criminals, Castle doesn’t hesitate to take them out. In his own spin-off series, Castle continues his quest for justice after avenging the deaths of his family. He discovers a larger conspiracy related to their deaths and teams up with David Lieberman, an expert in computer hacking, to uncover the truth. Castle learns from his experiences with Daredevil and decides not to kill Lieberman, marking a new chapter in his character’s story as he goes after the real source of the problem. It was great to see Jon Bernthal receive critical acclaim for his portrayal of The Punisher in Daredevil, and fans will be thrilled to see him in the spotlight once again. In the second season of the show, The Punisher was up against the Marvel villain Jigsaw, played by Ben Barnes. The season was the last piece of Marvel content released by Netflix as every other Defenders show had already been cancelled by then. While Daredevil appeared in the 2021 film Spider-Man: No Way Home, it is unknown if other Defenders like Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist will return in the future. Fans can look forward to seeing Jon Bernthal’s return as The Punisher in Daredevil: Born Again, which is set to debut on Disney+ next year.
