Hypnotic – 2023 – Ben Affleck │ News Update │ Cineflicks News

Hypnotic is an upcoming crime-thriller film by Robert Rodriguez. The film was announced last year but now, we finally have a first look at this highly anticipated film. Variety just dropped an exclusive image from the film, which features the talented Ben Affleck in action. Although the plot details have been kept under wraps, we do know that Affleck will play the role of a detective who’s trying to crack a case involving a series of mysterious crimes. On top of that, he’s also searching for his daughter who’s gone missing, and her disappearance may be linked to a secret government program. In the exclusive image from Variety, we see Affleck looking rather concerned as he holds up what appears to be a Polaroid picture of his daughter. It’s definitely got us wondering what other twists and turns the movie has in store. And if that wasn’t enough to get you excited, Hypnotic also boasts an incredible ensemble cast featuring Alice Braga, JD Pardo, Hala Finley, Dayo Okeniyi, Jeff Fahey, Jackie Earle Haley, and William Fichtner. Although we don’t know much about their roles, we do know that Hala Finley will play Affleck’s missing daughter. Rodriguez will screen a work-in-progress cut of the film at the SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas on March 12th! Even though the film isn’t fully edited yet, festival attendees will still get a taste of what the final cut of Hypnotic might look like. And get this, Rodriguez is no stranger to SXSW, having premiered his 2019 film Red 11 at the same festival. So, we know he’s going to bring his A-game. This movie is something of a passion project for Rodriguez. He’s known for big-budget tentpoles like the Sin City and Spy Kids series, but he’s been dreaming up Hypnotic for the last two decades. According to Collider, he’s described this film as “a Hitchcock thriller on steroids” and promises “a lot of twists, a lot of turns,” and “very energetic” action. Let’s not forget about the star of the show, Ben Affleck. While he’s busy gearing up for his next directorial feature, Air, which tells the inside story of Nike’s efforts to sign NBA legend Michael Jordan to a shoe deal, he’s also reprising his role as Batman in the upcoming DC films The Flash and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. But back to Hypnotic, the movie will be released theatrically by Ketchup, although we don’t have a premiere date yet. We can’t wait to see what this passionate and talented team brings to the big screen.
