Evil Dead Rise │ Mommy Loves You To Death │ News Update │ Cineflicks News

The cult-classic comedy-horror franchise, Evil Dead, is making a comeback with a brand-new story. The film, titled Evil Dead Rise, was first announced back in October 2019 and fans have been eagerly waiting for any new information since then. So, what can we expect from this latest installment? Well, we know that Sam Raimi, the original creator of the Evil Dead series, is returning to produce the film. And we also have a new director on board – Lee Cronin, whom you might know from the movie “A Hole In The Ground”. Fans of the original films are hoping that Evil Dead Rise will deliver the same mix of humor and horror that they’ve come to love from the franchise. But what about the story? Will we be following the adventures of the iconic anti-hero, Ash Williams? Well, it seems that Evil Dead Rise will be taking a different approach. While we don’t know all the details yet, we do know that the film will follow a new group of characters as they battle the evil forces that haunt them. The official synopsis for this horror flick reads, “Moving the action out of the woods and into the city, “Evil Dead Rise” tells a twisted tale of two estranged sisters, played by Sutherland and Sullivan, whose reunion is cut short by the rise of flesh-possessing demons, thrusting them into a primal battle for survival as they face the most nightmarish version of family imaginable”. In the final film of the original trilogy, Army of Darkness, Ash finds himself transported back in time to the Middle Ages. He must find the Necronomicon, a book of the dead, to return to his own time. After battling his way through hordes of evil Deadites and helping Duke Henry win a war, Ash finally obtains the Necronomicon. He follows the instructions, as best he can remember, and returns to the present day. In a memorable scene, Ash saves his coworkers from a time-traveling Demon attack at S-Mart, the homeware store where he works. He then delivers his iconic line, “Hail to the king, baby,”. Sadly, this is the last we see of Ash Williams in the films. Actor Bruce Campbell has confirmed that he won’t be reprising the role in front of the camera for the new movie. However, he will be involved as a producer, alongside original creators Sam Raimi and Robert Tapert. As for its cast, Alyssa Sutherland from Vikings has been cast as the character named Ellie, while Lily Sullivan from Mental will play her sister Beth. We also have Mia Challis joining the cast as Jessica, and there are a few other characters whose names haven’t been revealed yet. But we do know that Morgan Davies, Gabrielle Echols, and Nell Fisher will be playing those mysterious roles. Evil Dead Rise is set to hit theatres worldwide on April 21, 2023.
