Griselda is an upcoming crime drama miniseries from Netflix. After exploring the cartel bosses through the two shows Narcos and Narcos: Mexico, this upcoming miniseries from Netflix is about a famed Colombian cartel leader Griselda Blanco, a.k.a The Godmother. The streaming giant has chosen Colombian actress Sofia Vergara to portray Griselda in this crime series. Consisting of six episodes in total, the series dramatizes the real-life story of the cartel queen, who went by many names including The Black Widow or “LaMadrina”. The show will focus on Griselda as she enters into the cocaine business and with her cunning and brutality, she becomes one of the most notorious drug lords in history. Apart from Sofia who is playing the titular role, the cast also includes Alberto Guerra, Vanessa Ferlito, Alberto Ammann, and Christian Tappan in the supporting roles. The show is being helmed by Ingrid Escajeda the showrunner, writer, and executive producer for the project. Andrés Baiz sits in the director’s chair and will direct all 6 episodes of this miniseries. The filming for the show is still taking place in various locations like Los Angles, California, and Miami, Florida. It is expected to wrap up at the end of this month. Though, no official release date and window have been revealed yet but we suspect, Griselda will be released at the start of 2023 on Netflix.
